THE WORLD OF OUR OWN
by fingerplayers

THE WORLD OF OUR OWN is a non-verbal puppetry performance about this world, the world we want to live in, and the world we can create.
This performance is catered for young people of ages 7 and up.
Synopsis
PENG lives alone – in a world of his own, with rules of his own, but this pandemic is not just his own. He sets about creating the world he wants to live in, making decisions, drawing timetables, living by the clock; tick-tock, tick-tock.
But PENG still dreams, and in these dreams, his mind dreams of a different world. He listens to his routine and listens to the world, and eventually listens to his mind. What does it say? What should he do? Should he do this alone, or should it include other people too?
Through The World of Our Own, we hope:
- To encourage the imagination of a world that young people can create for themselves
- To explore ways of regulating emotions
- To bring young people and families together to discover strategies to adapt and cope with changes
- To lessen the fear and self-blame in young people when changes happen
