The Finger Players (TFP) is one of Singapore's leading theatre companies, best known for inventively fusing puppetry elements into its visually-arresting productions, and its strong advocacy of puppetry. Founded in 1999, TFP strives to be a centre of research and development for the creation and performance of puppetry in Singapore. 

In 2019, TFP became the first arts collective in Singapore to operate on a rotating artistic director model, with each Artistic Director helming the fort for a stipulated tenure. The Artistic Director is supported by a team of core members who are integral to The Finger Players since its inception. This term (2020 – 2023) is led by Co-Artistic Directors, Ellison Tan and Myra Loke. 

Currently, the company operates four branches: Main Season, International, Outreach and Capability Development. 

We are seeking TWO interns for the period of January - March 2023.

(1) MARKETING INTERN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing marketing strategies on social media
  • Brainstorming with the team content on social media
  • Assist in managing backend of company website 
  • Support in the monitoring and reporting of digital engagement statistics 
  • Assist the team / company in other departments where necessary 

Pre-requisites:

  • Preferably with a background in Arts Management, Theatre Studies, Business, related-disciplines.
  • A strong interest and passion in the arts/theatre.
  • Proficiency in any design / video editing software 
  • A strong interest and passion in the arts/theatre.
  • Able to work in a team, high level of responsibility, sharp eye for detail, creative flair, ace copywriting skills that stems from a love for the art form, is able to work independently, multi-task and have good time management skills.
  • A highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a good command of English. 
  • Two productions in our calendar next year will be performed in Mandarin, but support from the team will be provided if you are not a Mandarin-speaker / are not confident in the language
  • Willingness to work on weekends and after regular office hours during production periods
  • Able to commit on a full-time basis for at least 3 months, starting from January 2023

(2) PROGRAMMES INTERN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of productions, masterclasses and workshops.
  • Assist in project/event management.
  • Assist in ticketing.
  • Assist in general office operations and administration.

Pre-requisites:

  • Preferably with a background in Arts Management, Theatre Studies, Technical Theatre, Business, related-disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word Doc, Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding with some hands-on experience in production and stage management.
  • A strong interest and passion in the arts/theatre.
  • - A highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a good command of English. 
  • Due to the nature of the productions in 2023, we would require you to have a decent command of the Mandarin language. 
  • Willingness to work on weekends and after regular office hours during production periods.
  • Able to commit on a full-time basis for at least 3 months, starting from January 2023.
