Synopsis

A humble little mouse encountered a herd of elephants while scavenging for food. She curiously followed the herd of elephant into the forest and discovered a party filled with lots of delicious food. In an attempt to feed her hungry family, she helped herself to the food from the feast but was caught by one of the elephants. The elephant took pity on the mouse and decided offer her more food to bring home for her family. Weeks later, the mouse encountered the same elephant again. This time, the elephant was trapped in a net set by poachers. The mouse remembered the elephant’s generosity and decided to repay his kindness by saving him.

The Elephant and The Mouse is a contemporary adaption of an ancient Indian fable which was inspired by the unlikely friendship between the Hindu elephant God Ganesha and his Vahana – the mouse. Using object/rod puppets, this heart-warming tale teaches children how a simple act of kindness can go a long way.
