[SUPPORT] Help Us Write the Next Chapter of Singapore Puppetry
by fingerplayers
偶入大众 – Puppetry is for the people
These four characters sit on The Finger Players’ signage, serving as the company’s hope and reminder that puppetry is for everyone.
In Singapore, where puppetry is an artform to be preserved and yet innovated, The Finger Players has been at the forefront of the arts scene since 1999 and has indisputably shaped the cultural framework of approaching and understanding puppetry in Singapore.
In 2026, The Finger Players will embark on one of our most ambitious yet meaningful projects to date, consolidating two decades of puppetry experience into a Puppetry Methodology Book. Led by Oliver Chong and Loo An Ni, Core Team Members of The Finger Players, the launch of the book is stipulated to be end 2028.
The book will provide a practical framework for contemporary art-making, translating The Finger Players’ practices and philosophies into a tangible resource for the next generation of artists, theatre-makers and educators.
