For Corporations and Organisations

At The Finger Players, we are always looking for opportunities to expand our engagement of puppetry arts, using it as a tool to inspire, educate and bring people together. We invite corporate partners and organisations to join us in our advocacy of puppetry, not only as a means of artistic expression, but also as a powerful medium that will make a lasting impact on lives. By collaborating with our partners and drawing on your diverse expertise, we are able to better serve our community and create meaningful experiences that resonate beyond the stage.

Make a difference through these impactful avenues:

SPONSOR A PROGRAMME

As an independent arts organisation, the Major Company Grant from the National Arts Council covers less than 50% of our annual expenditure. We rely on the generosity of our corporate partners to empower us in crafting tangible change through the transformative art of puppetry. Your support not only helps us cultivate a community that revels in the benefits of puppetry, but also allows us to continue making magic happen on stage, where it belongs.

Sponsoring a programme is ideal for organisations or philanthropists dedicated to leaving an indelible mark on sustaining the puppetry theatre community in Singapore.

Cash donations are the most direct form of contribution. They are often used to cover expenses including manpower, materials (sets, props, and costumes), marketing, and more. This can be applied to Main Season, International Season, and Community Shows.

Sponsoring discounted tickets or buying out shows means you will cover a portion of the ticket price, making our programmes more accessible to beneficiaries of your choosing, e.g. students, the elderly, or individuals with special needs etc.

This form of non-monetary contribution plays a crucial role in enhancing our events, whether through sponsoring a venue, food and beverages, transportation, equipment, cleaning services, or contributing voluntary work.

EDUCATION & PUPPETRY

This is suitable for organisations who work closely with educators and practitioners who might benefit from using puppetry as an educational tool.

The Finger Players hopes to develop new perspectives and approaches in puppetry for education, community engagement, and therapy. This entails further research and development to applied puppetry, which uses puppetry and theatre-based techniques as tools to address community issues and provoke meaningful actions.

Existing literature highlights the positive impacts of puppetry on children during their early stages of learning, with theories suggesting that puppets serve as helpful visual aids to engage attention and stimulate imagination. Presenting stories through puppetry also creates a degree of separation from the characters being portrayed,

which ideally prevents immediate associations with situations in the audience’s own lives and offers a safe space for both healing and reflection.

These programmes are created through consultations with seasoned theatre practitioners, facilitators, and medical professionals. Moving forward, the team aims to pioneer the development of puppetry in education and therapeutic settings, thereby broadening the positive impacts of engaging with puppetry arts in Singapore.

TEAM-BUILDING & PUPPETRY

If you are looking for a corporate team-building activity that fosters creativity and collaboration, The Finger Players is pleased to offer a fun, interactive, and memorable experience for you and your team.

After all, puppetry isn’t just for children—it’s for everyone to enjoy!

Taking a break amidst the hustle and bustle of life is one of the greatest form of self-care. It is important to find moments to pause, breathe, and relax. And what better way to rejuvenate than by engaging in the mindful art of puppetry. After all, breathing is not just how we calm our minds, it is also the key to bringing puppets to life.

In this puppetry workshop, we blend creativity with relaxation, inviting you to unwind through the joy of hands-on artistic experiences. You will learn the simple and fundamental techniques of creating a puppet, using everyday materials such as masking tape, paper cups, and aluminium foil. With your puppet in hand, you will also learn how to transfer your breath to your puppet, allow it to come to life and tell a story. The workshop culminates in a small performance or a “show-and-tell” to showcase your craft. This is a fun and calming experience that will help you reconnect with yourself and enjoy a refreshing break from the everyday routine.
